Young Cumbria is one of Cumbria’s leading youth charities. We provide services that empower young people to create positive change in their lives and in their communities.

Youth Work Projects

It has been developed in direct response to need identified through consultation with young people and data evidence. The project enables young people who are at risk and facing multiple disadvantages to overcome the sense of hopelessness about the future and the difficulties they can have in engaging in learning, training and/or employment.

Isthmus Cottage

Our facility offered by Young Cumbria to enable groups to enjoy the Lake District. It is an outdoor residential centre that is situated on the shore of Derwentwater.

This is the work the organisation started with in 1936. We support adult volunteers who deliver youth clubs in communities.
