There is a unique process through which young people engage with Keyfund. This includes young people:
- Forming a group which has some project ideas
- Working and learning together with the support of their facilitator, developing a project idea of their choice
- Recording their work and learning
- Making an application to a Keyfund Panel
- If successful, receiving the money to undertake their project
- Evaluating their project and learning, and deciding whether to go on to the next stage of Keyfund
12 Keyfund Skills
Keyfund is based around 12 key skills. A trained Keyfund Facilitator supports each group in the development of these skills throughout the Keyfund process:
- Assess Strengths and Weaknesses
- Solve Problems
- Plan Time and Energy
- Cope With Stress and Tension
- Negotiate
- Resolve Conflicts
- Seek Out Information and Advice
- Deal With People in Power and Authority
- Evaluate Ones Own Performance
- Communication
- Carry Through Agreed Responsibilities
Make Decisions
A Documents Pack is available for all trained Facilitators, providing the necessary paperwork to enable the project to take place. Keyfund also encourages Facilitators to be creative, and use methodologies of recording and presenting information which best meets the needs of their group – for example using video or recording equipment, or using posters and art to record their work and learning.
