Youth Work Programmes PDF Print E-mail

Young Cumbria co-ordinates a variety of quality youth work programmes designed to recognise young peoples learning and achievements.  Each programme offers a flexible approach, complementing vibrant curriculum activities in a range of settings and contexts.

Young Cumbria aims to support its membership and wider organisations to offer these opportunities to young people as part of their work.

The Duke of Edinburghs Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award offers a challenging programme which enables young people to learn new skills, experience adventure and gain a sense of achievement.

Keyfund

Keyfund enables young people to develop a range of skills whilst planning a project or activity of their choice.  Four levels enable incremental learning to take place, with a funding opportunity (up to £2000) available at each level.

UK Youth

The Youth Achievement Awards are based on a Curriculum Development Model, and are designed to encourage young people to progressively take on more responsibility in selecting, planning and leading activities that are based on their interests.

First Gear

First Gear is a pre-learner driver education programme, aiming to develop positive attitudes towards the responsibilities inherent in the safe use of motor vehicles, both as young drivers and passengers.

Young Cumbria is funded by Youth Work in Cumbria Partnership and Cumbria Road Safety Partnership to co-ordinate these programmes.
