 Young Cumbria is an umbrella organisation that provides guidance, information and development support services to youth clubs/projects/groups based in Cumbria as well as direct delivery of youth work within the most disadvantaged communities in the county. Our definition of disadvantage includes:
- Rurally isolated
- Socially excluded and/or discriminated against
- Living in areas of high deprivation
Our Vision
- Assisting and encouraging communities to invest in their young people through the supported work of volunteers
- Assisting and encouraging voluntary youth groups to provide safe and appropriate activities and worthwhile experiences for their members
- Creating, providing and facilitating developmental programmes and learning opportunities that support community based youth groups and initiatives
- Ensuring our work reflects the needs of young people
